Renowned actress Beatriz Bonnet died on Wednesday at age 89.
The sad news was confirmed by theatrical producer Carlos Rottemberg on his twitter social network account.
Bonnet was born on December 11, 1930. Daughter of a single mother, what for many at that time was a stigma for her was a pride. He never changed his last name.
As a little girl she already showed her histrionic skills. In an interview he said that “all he wanted was to sing. She always repeated: ‘In an old almachén of Pacheo Colón, where those who have always lost faith go’ ”. It was a tango that happened on the radio and he had learned by heart even before he learned to speak fluently. When he started school he also spent his time singing. He not only liked to sing, he also did well and had a very good voice.
On television he worked in cycles of Hugo Moser and theater with Osvaldo Pacheco and Darío Vittori. He acted in comedy units with Juan Carlos Dual and Mate for four and La Casa de la corner and was one of the mainstays of Philips Casino, among other programs.
Undoubtedly one of his most popular characters was Beatriz Sanguedolce, in Mesa de Noticias. Caricatured a packet lady, Juan Carlos and Edgardo’s aunt, who used to finish her sentences with a “What a shame!” hose that transcended in time and still some nostalgic of the 80 employs.
