Four people died and 21 others injured due to mass shooting by a gunman in Odessa, Texas.
The gunman has been shot and killed by the police, authorities said.
The Midland Police department also revealed that there were 25 shooting victims including police officers from different department.
The authorities said that mass shooting was started at traffic stop by Texas Department of Public Safety officer just after 3 p.m. local time, when the police officer stopped a gold Honda for traffic violation. It is still unclear why and what led to traffic stop but when the vehicle stopped, the gunman opened fire on an officer and the officer was shot.
And that is when the suspect went towards Odessa and started shooting at other people along the way and according to authorities he struck several people at 42nd street as well.
And the gunman allegedly ditched his car along the way and hijacked a mail truck and started going towards Cinergy and he did not stop shooting.
The gunman was then shot and killed by the police officers, suspect has been described as white male in his 30s. Police said.
The motive of the shooting is not known this time.

“The active shooter was shot and killed at the Cinergy in Odessa,” the Midland Police Department said.
According to reports there were two shooters at large in two different vehicles.
“We believe there are two shooters in two separate vehicles. One suspect is believed to be at the Cinergy in Midland and the other is believed to be driving on Loop 250 in Midland,” the Midland Police Department said in a statement on its Facebook page.
“Thirteen people have been shot and one suspect has been apprehended,” said Art Martinez, communications operator with Texas’ Department of Public Safety.
“The two vehicles in question are a gold/white small Toyota truck and a USPS postal van. Please stay away from these areas and stay indoors.” The Midland Police Department
Please note that Odessa police has not issued any numbers about the injuries or casualties they just said “multiple people have been shot.”
Odessa police said multiple people were shot by a gunman who at one point hijacked mail truck and was “shooting at random people.”
Midland and Odessa are in western Texas, about 20 miles apart. Six patients have been shifted to Midland Memorial Hospital, 3 of them are stable and other 3 are in critical condition according to reports.
Odessa police has asked the people to get off the road and and use extreme caution.
“There is no active shooter at this time,” Midland police said. “All agencies are investigating reports of possible suspects.”
