Hurricane Dorian Approaches Bahamas, Warnings Issued for South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina

Hurricane Dorian is approaching Bahamas slowly as category four storm with a maximum wind speed of 150 miles per hour.

The hurricane Dorian has slowed down its approach according to CBSN towards the Bahamas and US, according to reports the hurricane is giving it time to grow in size and in strength.

The warnings were issued at the North Western Bahamas earlier, the water levels could rise up-to 15 feet above normal. The residents of the Bahamas have started preparing for the worst.

The Americans along the east coast from Florida to Carolina have also started stocking emergency rations.

According to reports, the hurricane Dorian could hit east coast shortly after the holiday weekend or it could stay away from the US mainland altogether.

The contributing meteorlogist to CBS news Jeff Berardelli said, Hurricane Dorian is one of the strongest, it’s 150 miles per hour which is category 4 at the moment but if it reaches to 156 miles per hour then it will become a category 5.

“But when winds jump to 156 miles an hour, may becomes cat 5, it may or may not happen luckily its over the open waters right now when its doing that. Also there is a shift in the track as well, so the track is probably gonna be slightly to the east I think and it may not actually make landfall in the state of Florida can you believe that after all this? But I tell you no one is unhappy about this. Everyone in Florida is breathing a careful sign of relief.” Jeff Berardelli told CBS News.

He also added that it will be over Bahamas and it will be a really devastating storm for them probably with winds of 140 miles an hour.

President Trump took to Twitter earlier today and issued a warning in which he said that hurricane Dorian could hit South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina.

“Looking like our great South Carolina could get hit MUCH harder than first thought. Georgia and North Carolina also. It’s moving around and very hard to predict, except that it is one of the biggest and strongest (and really wide) that we have seen in decades. Be safe!” President Trump tweeted.

The places which are under threat of hurricane Dorian are Melbourne, Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Wilmington and Hatteras. Please note that according to Jeff Berardelli, it is still hard to tell if the hurricane Dorian makes landfall at North and South Carolina. Be safe people.
